Guest Speaker:  Michael Bracken, Managing Partner  of Development Management Group, Inc. His firm is currently under contract the City of Desert Hot Springs to assist them with the development of their economy.  They recently completed the city's first "Economic Development Strategic Plan".  The Plan  received an "Award of Merit" from the California Association for Local Economic Development (CALED) at their annual conference.

Residents and businesses in the City of Desert Hot Springs can currently support the sale of $400 million of taxable (retail) merchandise annually, yet there is only about $200 being sold within the community!  At a time when most communities are truly "over-retailed", Desert Hot Springs provides a great opportunity for retailers looking to expand and take instant advantage of demand for their products.  On May 5, 2011 we will focus on what the City of Desert Hot Springs has been doing over the last few years to reposition themselves to prepare it to attract new commercial real estate investment into their community.
